Creating Type

Not long ago we were given the task of creating type using imagery as our basis. So I used the infamous game which I was addicted to as a child 'Tetris', protractor and compass to see if I can create type using only these tools, a ying-yang symbol and abstract imagery.

Using these as examples I started creating different font styles. My favourite within them were the first three styles, unfortunately the idea of using a compass to create type and only a compass and protractor created alot of limitations so I quickly gave up on that idea. The ying-yang alphabets seemed promising as well.

I thought that the yingyang one was quite promising but soon came to the realisation that it was not working out as I had imagined it would, so I revised my type idea. I focused back on the references and decided to pick tetris and abstract imagery for inspiration which led to my final type.

The following is my final type.
