Augmented Reality

While researching for methods to create an interactive magazine, by chance I came across this video and I am so glad that I did. Being left in a state of surprise would be an understatement when I witnessed how much technology has progressed, so much so that even print magazine can be an interactive experience. Yes you read correct, print magazine, however, it is not the typical pop-up style, it leans very much towards technology. Confused? Try imagining a page where a video is playing on print, try imagining a 3D object displayed on top of a page in holographic form ofcourse still in print. If you cannot imagine it, I recommend you watch it to understand what I mean and I think you would also find yourself baffled by where technology has taken us.

It is called Augmented Reality and Milwaukee Magazine are the first ever to create an augmented reality magazine. This innovative design has lead to revolution in the print industry as print never seemed dull to read with the use of this style. Personally I prefer visual to text which is why this definitely provided inspiration and I will definitely input this into my studio practice.
